FAZUA Ride 60 won’t turn on
If your FAZUA Ride 60 won’t turn on, don’t assume the drive unit has failed. First, make sure the battery is charged and that you’re using the right charger. FAZUA says not to use a RIDE 50 charger with the RIDE 60 battery. For a normal startup, hold the control switch upward for at least two seconds. If nothing happens, check the LED Hub or the Control Hub. The lights show battery charge and support mode, but they can also tell you when something’s wrong.
You can also restart the battery by holding the control switch downward for at least 10 seconds. If it works, a blue LED should appear. That’s about as far as I’d go at home. If the bike still won’t wake up, FAZUA says Ride 60 drive-system components aren’t designed for user repair.
Motor assistance cuts out or feels inconsistent
Intermittent assistance is one of those issues that immediately makes the motor look like the problem. You push harder and get very little support. Then the power comes back. Maybe River or Rocket mode feels normal for a while before assistance drops out again.
One of the first things FAZUA points to is the speed sensor. It needs an accurate reading from its magnet to know how fast the bike is moving. FAZUA specifies a gap of 1-8 mm between the two. If the magnet has shifted or the sensor isn’t positioned where it should be, assistance can become irregular.
Torque-sensor calibration can cause trouble, too. The sensor measures how much force you’re putting into the pedals, which helps the Ride 60 decide how much assistance to give you.
With Firmware Bundle 12 or newer, FAZUA says that calibration happens automatically shortly after startup. Older firmware may need to be calibrated manually through the FAZUA Toolbox, particularly after work on the cranks, chainring, or DRIVE UNIT. Before blaming the hardware, check your support settings.
The FAZUA App lets you change Max Power, Support Relation, and Ramp-Up. If the motor suddenly feels weaker, stronger, or slower to kick in, make sure those settings haven’t changed.

What FAZUA warning lights can tell you
The LED Hub can save you some guessing. If all LEDs flash yellow three times, repeating about every 10 seconds, FAZUA calls that a Soft Fault. You may lose assistance, although the bike can still be ridden. FAZUA recommends having it serviced and says the speed sensor is often the cause of this fault.
Three red flashes are more serious. If all LEDs flash red three times, repeating about every three seconds, you have a Hard Fault. FAZUA says to stop using the system and have it professionally serviced.
A white LED is a little trickier. With current firmware, a flashing white bottom LED means the battery is empty. On firmware older than Bundle .007, though, a white LED can mean the system isn’t recognizing a component such as the battery or DRIVE UNIT. FAZUA recommends charging the battery first and updating the firmware if the light remains. I’d use the lights before guessing.
Noise, firmware, and connection problems
A noise coming from the motor area doesn’t necessarily mean something inside the motor is coming apart. FAZUA recommends checking the pedals, crank arms, chainring, chain, and derailleur first. A loose crank or a worn drivetrain can make the bottom bracket area sound like the issue, even when the motor is fine. If the sound really is coming from inside the DRIVE UNIT, that’s different. FAZUA says the oversized internal bearings aren’t individually replaceable, so any suspected bearing problem should be taken to a dealer.
Then there’s firmware. FAZUA currently lists Firmware Bundle 017 for the Ride 60. Updates can fix bugs and change how parts of the system behave, so if the bike is acting strangely and hasn’t been updated in a while, it’s worth checking. Updates and diagnostics are handled through the FAZUA Toolbox.
Phone trouble is easier to separate from motor trouble. If the bike rides normally but won’t connect to the current FAZUA App, start with the connection itself. The RIDE 60 doesn’t work with the older FAZUA Rider app, so make sure you’re using the right one before digging any deeper.
When the Ride 60 needs professional service

Once the basic checks no longer produce answers, the Ride 60 becomes a shop job. Before you take it in, the FAZUA Toolbox can create a system report. Think of it as providing the technician with a record of what the drive system has been doing, rather than asking them to chase a problem that may not show up during a short test ride. A recurring red Hard Fault, a suspected problem inside the DRIVE UNIT, or a bike that still won’t turn on after charging and restarting are all good reasons to stop troubleshooting at home.
There’s another consideration for Ride 60 owners now. Porsche acquired FAZUA in 2022, and in August 2026 announced plans to discontinue its e-Bike drive-system business. That doesn’t mean existing Ride 60 bikes suddenly lost support. FAZUA’s support information, firmware downloads, warranty registration, and certified service resources remain available online. Its current warranty information also continues to describe a two-year voluntary manufacturer warranty for qualifying products registered within three months of purchase.
For current owners, that makes using the established service network particularly worthwhile.

Buying a used e-Bike with a FAZUA Ride 60
A used Ride 60-equipped e-Bike deserves more than a quick parking-lot spin. Start it from cold and ride through Breeze, River, and Rocket. Put some pressure on the pedals and see if the assistance stays consistent. Watch for error lights, listen around the drive unit, make sure the battery charges normally, and pay attention to any brief loss of power. Service history matters, too. I’d rather buy a bike with a few cosmetic scratches and a healthy, documented drive system than a spotless one with intermittent assistance nobody has figured out.
It also helps to know what the Ride 60 should feel like. The compact drive unit produces 60 Nm of torque and up to 450 watts of maximum power, but FAZUA built it around a lighter, more natural riding experience. If you’re coming from a full-power e-MTB, less aggressive assistance isn’t automatically a problem.
