If you see an error code on your Addmotor e-Bike, it’s telling you something doesn’t look quite right. In most cases, it’s not a sign that the bike is broken; it’s the controller stepping in to protect the motor, battery, or sensors before any damage happens.

Cause: One or more of the motor’s phase wires isn’t behaving as expected. This often points to a loose or damaged motor cable, especially near the rear axle on hub-motor bikes.

Solution: Stop riding and power off the bike. Continuing to ride with this error can cause more damage. Have the motor wiring inspected before using the bike again.

Cause: The motor’s internal Hall sensors aren’t providing reliable position data. These sensors help the controller smoothly regulate motor power.

Solution:This is not a home fix. The motor or its internal wiring needs professional inspection.

Cause: The system thinks the brakes are being applied, even when they aren’t. This can happen if a brake lever doesn’t fully return to its natural position or if the brake sensor wiring is faulty.

Solution: Check that both brake levers move freely and return fully. Inspect the sensor wiring near the levers.

Cause: The battery voltage has dropped below safe limits, often when the battery is nearly empty or aging.

Solution: Fully charge the battery. If undervoltage errors happen frequently after charging, the battery may be nearing the end of its usable life.

Cause: The system is detecting a voltage higher than expected, sometimes right after charging.

Solution: Disconnect the charger and restart the bike. Repeated overvoltage errors should be checked professionally.

Cause: The controller isn’t receiving a valid speed signal. This is often due to a misaligned or dirty speed sensor or magnet.

Cause: The pedal-assist sensor is sending inconsistent signals, so the system can’t tell when to apply assist.

Some Addmotor error codes clear quickly with a restart or with a bit of fettling. Others don’t.
