What Makes The Scott Solace?
The Solace is a unique bike in my opinion, and it sets itself apart from other electric bikes in many ways. Here’s why;
Carbon Fiber Frame
The first point to mention is the carbon fiber frame. It’s lightweight, stiff, and gives a really nice racing feel when ridden. It has excellent aerodynamics, and there’s no denying it looks amazing.
I think it’s really important to mention the quality that comes from Scott when it comes to their frames. They have always been innovative and known for creating new technology, which is great. Still, for me, the quality is some of the best available, and very rarely do people see problems unless they cause them themselves.
Top Of The Line Components
Scott hasn’t been shy when it comes to the components on the Solace. With the majority of the top-end models having electronic gearing, which is wireless and just wonderful to ride with, and the more basic models on mechanical high-end groupsets, there’s a lot to like there.
The hydraulic disc brakes are another lovely touch, which can lock the wheels up fast. I am obsessed with the fact that on the high-end models they use carbon wheels, not making this bike just quick but absolutely rapid.
Motor And Battery
When it comes to a bike like the Solace, the traditional ride feel matters, and keeping the weight down is a big factor in that. The Solace on all models uses a TQ HPR60 motor. This is a high-performance lightweight motor that gives a natural feel of assistance.
It will give you 60 Nm of torque, a battery with a capacity of 360 Wh, and a quiet mid-drive motor with a battery hidden inside the frame, which is barely noticeable. It may not be a power plant, but it will help so much throughout the ride and give a range of around 30 to 50 miles. They claim 75 miles, but I think that’s pretty exaggerated.
Is The Scott Solace Comfortable?
The Scott Solace has a relaxed geometry and is designed more for endurance and long distance over anything else. Adding to that, the wider tire clearance and low down weight from the motor and battery make the bike feel planted and easy to throw around without it feeling chaotic.
It’s important to understand that road and gravel bikes such as the Solace are not always the most comfortable and do take some time to get used to compared to a hybrid bike or even a mountain bike.

Final Verdict
The Scott Solace is a fantastic ride and a dream bike for many people, myself included. I would highly recommend it, but appreciate that the price is a lot of money. If you can spare it, it’s a wonderful way to enjoy a great e-Bike.
