1. Delivery type
Upway customers can choose how they would like their electric bike to be delivered, requiring 15 minutes of assembly or just 5 minutes of assembly. For delivery addresses near an UpCenter, unboxed delivery requiring no assembly may be available. Customers pay a premium for the 5-minute assembly or unboxed delivery options.
- 15-minute assembly: The most common method retailers use to ship bikes. The bike will arrive mostly assembled— typically, only the pedals, handlebars, and front wheel need to be attached.
- 5-minute assembly: The only assembly required is attaching the pedals and straightening the handlebars. It comes in a larger box and must go through freight shipping.
- Unboxed delivery: Bike arrives fully assembled and ready to ride!
2. Origin UpCenter
All Upway e-Bikes are prepared and held at one of our two UpCenters in the US, either New York City or Los Angeles. Whenever a customer buys a bike, the bike ships out from its origin UpCenter. Shipping couriers charge more for longer distances between the UpCenter and the bike’s final destination. That’s why Upway’s bicoastal presence as of 2025 is such great news!

Upway ships electric bikes anywhere across the lower 48 states. The final shipping cost, however, will depend on the delivery destination. Customers have the option to purchase a bike that’s nearer to them, reducing the delivery time and shipping cost. Upway divides the continental US into three delivery zones: LA-Preferred, NYC-Preferred, and No Preference (middle of the country). In general, the closer you are to the UpCenter that holds the bike, the lower the shipping cost.
