The Gazelle Easyflow is what happens when Dutch engineers sit down and ask a very sensible question: "Why are we making cycling harder than it needs to be?"

A Gazelle Easyflow
I have been lucky enough to ride some amazing bikes over the years. Some make me feel like I'm going as fast as a bullet train. Others make me feel like I have the ability of a mountain goat on a rough climb. I have never had one that made me feel like I was in an armchair until the Easyflow came along.

There are many bikes available, but very few come close to the Easyflow in terms of its unique design and features. In this article, I can’t wait to tell you all about it and why you might want to be riding one in the future.

What Are Gazelle E-Bikes?

Gazelle was started in 1892. Yeah, that’s not a typo. Nearly 130 years of making bikes and decades worth of incredible industry reputation. Gazelle is a Dutch brand that specializes in perfecting bikes. They have made a big impact in the electric bike market and produce a premium product.

They have a good range of bikes, mainly focusing on commuters and practical lifestyle bikes. The Medo and everyday commuter, Arroyo, a comfort cruiser, the Ultimate all-rounder, Eclipse for long distance, Avignon the luxury tourer, and much more.

A Gazelle Easyflow

What Is The Gazelle Easyflow?

The Gazelle Easyflow isn’t like other bikes. It’s got a lot of great, unique features that set it apart from other e-Bikes on the market. Here’s what you need to know.

  • Ultra-low step-through frame
  • Lower center of gravity
  • Very upright riding position
  • Comfortable saddle and handlebars
  • Small 24” Wheels
  • Seat which sits very far back

This means that not only does the bike stay very low to the ground, meaning you can put both feet down easily when you stop, but the handling is fantastic, and so much less pressure is put on the lower back and the core.

The Different Versions Of The Easyflow

There are two versions of the Easyflow you can buy. The C7 and the C8. The main difference is the specification levels. For example, the C7 has a 7-speed mechanical gearbox, and the C8 has an electronic gearbox that can even operate in automatic mode.

Is The Gazelle Easyflow Comfortable And Easy To Use

The Easyflow is designed for maximum comfort. It has a position that sits between a typical bike and a recumbent-style bike. There are very few bikes even close to the Easyflow. Not only that, high handlebars, a comfort seat, and the fact that when you stop, both feet can go down make this bike amazing.

Using the bike is easy. The motor works on pedal assist. It's smooth and supportive. You get a cargo rack on the back for carrying goods, and even fenders for poor weather. One of the biggest advantages is the 24” wheels, which give it great ability for steering and control.

Does The Gazelle Easyflow Have Good Components?

The Easyflow has fantastic components. Gazelle does not do things half-heartedly and has very high standards for the components it equips its bikes with. The Easyflow is a premium bike, and its components match.

Motor And Battery

Gazelle uses the Shimano EP5 mid-drive motor. The version on it produces 50 Nm of torque and comes with a 540 Wh battery. It’s smooth and offers various levels of support. They say the range can reach around 90 miles, but I think that's a generous estimate. I feel that, on a low assistance level, 70 is a little more realistic.

Gearing And Braking

The gears equipped are excellent. They use a 7 or 8-speed Shimano Nexus hub-gear system. It’s all hidden internally, requires next to no maintenance and is cheap when servicing comes around. The 8-speed is even electronic and automatic. As with pretty much all Gazelle models, they even chuck in powerful hydraulic disc brakes to help you stop quickly.

Is The Gazelle Easyflow Good Value For Money?

The Gazelle Easyflow ranges from around $3,500 to $4,000. They are not budget e-Bikes. They are premium. Everything on the Gazelle Easyflow is of high quality. Are they worth the money? In my opinion, they are completely great value.

How Does The Gazelle Compare To Other Similar Bikes?

It’s very challenging to compare the Gazelle to other bikes as there aren’t many like it. The closest kind of bike is a commuter, such as the Specialized Turbo Como.
