CERO was a thoughtful cargo bike brand that dreamt up and showed us what urban cargo bikes should be. Inspired by Japanese mamachari design and loaded with premium components, CERO built compact, no-nonsense electric cargo bikes that punched well above their weight. Sadly, the brand went bust in 2024, but many of its flagship models are still rolling today— here’s a detailed guide to the CERO brand and the CERO One cargo e-Bike.

What are CERO electric bikes?

CERO was an award-winning brand specializing in cargo bikes. The flagship model was called the CERO One, a compact electric cargo bike inspired by the Japanese Mamachari bicycle design. The bike is city-ready and utility-oriented, equipped with quality components and smart features that make sense while skipping any gimmicks.

Unfortunately, the CERO brand ceased operations in late 2024 due to cash flow problems after the pandemic. CERO was a small, well-respected brand making a big splash in the cargo bike game, so many cycling enthusiasts and cargo riders were sad to see them go.

Why ride CERO e-Bikes?

Don’t just take my word for it— the CERO brand won the prestigious EUROBIKE Gold Award for cargo bikes. The CERO One model, specifically, embraced a well-thought-out design that makes it super practical for urban riders and errand runners, powered by a Shimano drive unit. The utility e-Bike looks great, lasts a long time, and performs reliably— when it comes to electric bikes, that’s the whole enchilada.

There’s a café lock, reliable belt drive, internal hub gearing, and robust double kickstand to support the compact bike.
