Bulls Iconic E-Bike Review & Model Comparison

The Iconic sits somewhere between a conventional commuter and an electric mountain bike. BULLS calls it an eSUV, and the term works here. These bikes are designed for everyday transportation, but the suspension, wide tires, and Bosch motors leave much more room for rough pavement, gravel, and recreational riding.

The Iconic S gets a 6061 aluminum step-through frame, adjustable stem, 120mm Suntour air fork, and 27.5 × 2.4-inch CST Supero All Ground tires. The step-through frame makes getting on and off easier.

That’s considerably more suspension and tire than you’ll find on many city e-Bikes. Potholes, broken pavement, gravel roads, and rail trails are all well within its intended use. That doesn’t make the Iconic S an electric mountain bike. It just means the ride doesn’t have to end when the pavement does.

At 58.4 pounds, the Iconic S isn’t light. You’ll notice that if you have to lift it onto a rack or carry it upstairs. The wide tires, long wheelbase, centrally positioned Bosch motor, and integrated battery all point toward stability rather than quick handling. That makes sense on a Class 3 e-Bike capable of assisting up to 28 mph. 

The step-through frame becomes more useful the more often you ride. Getting on and off at intersections, during errands, or when the bike is loaded is simply easier. BULLS offers it in 41, 44, 48, and 54cm frame sizes, too.

This isn't a bike I'd choose because I wanted quick road-bike handling. The appeal is having more tire and suspension contact with the ground when the pavement gets rough. I’d keep the stock tires in perspective. The Supero All Ground is intended for mixed surfaces rather than aggressive trail riding. If dirt becomes the main event, I’d start looking at more aggressive tires or a dedicated e-MTB.

The Iconic S uses Bosch’s Performance Line Speed Smart System, producing 85Nm of torque with pedal assistance up to 28 mph. That immediately separates it from the Iconic EVO 1 750 models, which use Bosch Performance Line CX assistance up to 20 mph.

The Speed motor makes the most sense if your rides include longer stretches of open pavement where you can use the additional assistance. BULLS pairs the motor with a 750Wh Bosch PowerTube battery, substantial capacity for commuting and longer recreational rides. The Purion 200 display keeps the controls compact, while Shimano handles the mechanical side with a Deore 10-speed drivetrain and MT200 hydraulic disc brakes.

The Iconic name covers several significantly different bikes. For faster everyday riding, the Iconic S is great. You get 28-mph Bosch Performance Line Speed assistance, a 750Wh battery, a step-through frame, and a 120mm air fork without rear suspension.

• The Iconic EVO 1 750 Wave is another step-through option, but it takes a different approach. It uses Bosch’s Performance Line CX Smart System with assistance up to 20 mph. It keeps the 750Wh battery and 120mm front suspension while adding a suspension dropper post and Kiox 300 display. If you want easier mounting but don’t need Class 3 speeds, the Wave makes more sense.
• The Iconic EVO 1 750 Diamond uses essentially the same Bosch CX, 750Wh, Class 1 setup with a traditional diamond frame.
• The Iconic EVO TR 1 750 adds 120mm of rear suspension. If rough dirt roads and trails are a regular part of your riding, that extra suspension starts making sense.
• The older Iconic EVO 2 Speed provides Class 3 assistance up to 28 mph and 120mm front suspension, but BULLS specifies a smaller 625Wh PowerTube.
• The Iconic EVO TR 2 Speed combines that 28-mph assistance with 120mm front and rear suspension and also uses a 625Wh battery.

The easiest way to narrow the lineup is to answer two questions: Do you need 28-mph assistance, and will you actually use rear suspension?

Model year matters when shopping used. BULLS notes that specifications can change, so check the individual bike rather than assuming every Iconic with the same name is identical.

I’d look closely at an Iconic if your rides don’t fit into a single category. Maybe you commute during the week and ride rail trails on weekends. Maybe your daily route includes good pavement, bad pavement, and a few miles of gravel. Or maybe you simply want more tire and suspension underneath you than a typical city e-Bike provides.

The Iconic S makes particular sense for longer commutes where Class 3 assistance is useful. I’d reserve the TR models for riders who will genuinely use rear suspension. It adds comfort and control on rough surfaces, but there’s little reason to take on the extra complexity if nearly every mile is smooth pavement.

Start with the complete model name. An Iconic S, EVO 1 750, EVO 2 Speed, and EVO TR can have different motors, batteries, speed classifications, frames, and suspension. Confirm exactly what you’re looking at before comparing prices. After that, I’d put more weight on condition than mileage alone.

Check battery condition and make sure the Bosch system, display, controls, motor, and charger work normally. Inspect the fork for leaking seals or damaged stanchions. On a TR model, check the rear shock and pivots as well. Then look at the drivetrain, brake pads and rotors, tires, wheels, bearings, and dropper post if equipped. I’d also make sure the original charger and battery keys are included.

A low odometer reading doesn’t tell you whether the battery was stored properly or whether the suspension and drivetrain were maintained.

The used market can make the Iconic particularly interesting because these are relatively complicated bikes, with Bosch electronics, suspension, hydraulic brakes, and, on some versions, rear suspension and dropper posts. Every certified pre-owned e-Bike sold through Upway receives a professional 50-point inspection covering the frame, drivetrain, brakes, wheels, battery, motor, display, and electrical system before it’s listed. Each bike also includes a 1-year warranty and a 14-day return period.

That matters with the Iconic because the model name doesn't tell the whole story. An individual Upway listing lets you compare the bike's actual specifications and condition rather than assuming every Iconic uses the same Bosch system or suspension package.
