This is not a straightforward question. In my experience, if I have a trustworthy electric bike maintenance and repair shop on my doorstep at competitive prices, I'd probably buy from there, due to the convenience.

However, if I can get better value from an online retailer or refurbished marketplace, I'd check that my local bike shop could maintain and repair the bike first, and assuming they could, I'd buy it online, and then have it repaired and maintained locally.
