Tomberlin E-Bikes: Brand History

Tomberlin has not just been about bikes. They started with premium electric vehicles and focused on street-legal EVs and motorized vehicles, which are alternatives to golf carts. When the big e-Bike boom happened, they turned to two wheels instead of four. Here’s the bikes they make,

  • Evoke Signature Carbon: Premium lifestyle/urban e-Bike
  • Evoke Moab: All-terrain / fat-tire e-Bike
  • Evoke Glide: Comfort cruiser / urban e-Bike
  • Evoke Split: Compact folding e-Bike
  • Evoke Signature Sig AL: All-purpose lifestyle e-Bike
  • Evoke Signature Sig ST: Sport-styled lifestyle e-Bike

Who are Tomberlin E-Bikes for?

Tomberlin e-Bikes are not made for riders chasing performance or giant miles. The bikes are designed for practical use. It might be someone looking to commute in comfort, someone new to e-Bike riding, or someone who just wants to explore.

They are not for you if you are looking for high speed and performance, into extreme off-road riding, or long hilly rides pushing the boundaries of modern motors and batteries. Think comfort and practically over anything else.

Tomberlin E-Bikes: Practical Design and Comfort

When you look at Tomberlin bikes, the designs scream practicality. Easy to get on and off step-through models, excellent upright riding positions, and models with chunky tires to take you wherever you want to go with electric assistance.

They scream practicality and comfort, but they look surprisingly sporty and have an excellent premium design. I personally think they have ticked a lot of boxes in a bike that a lot of people want to ride, which looks the part but isn’t too much.

How Do Tomberlin Motors and Batteries Perform?

When it comes to motors and batteries, Tomberlin uses both rear-hub and mid-drive systems. The mid-drive systems are generally Shimano step models or one of their own-branded motors, which we can only assume come from a major motor company. They also use Bafang rear hub motors on some models.

They focus on smooth and predictable power delivery. They are made for city speeds, easy starts, and to help inspire confidence as a rider. They are excellent for city riding and urban environments, but can do a bit of everything.

When it comes to battery range, they use a lithium system and can give around 10 to 40 miles, which, for the size and practicality, is fairly good, but it’s not going to win any awards.

Are Tomberlin E-Bikes Prices Fair?

As far as pricing and value go, Tomberlin is a mid to premium bike. They are good value for money, but you are paying the price for that. There’s no denying the bikes look fantastic, and they use good components, and there’s nothing wrong with what they are asking.

For what they are asking, other brands can provide the same or, in some cases, a little more for the price. You are paying more for the design, finish, and practically excellent components. It is fair pricing.

If you are looking for the best value for money from multiple bike brands in one place, why not consider Upway? It’s a pre-owned e-Bike marketplace where all bikes are electrically and mechanically tested and come with a one-year warranty! See the bikes!

Cons

Final Verdict on Tomberlin

Tomberlin’s electric bikes are not designed for performance. They are not going to break any speed or distance records, but they will give you all-day comfort, be very easy to ride, and just boost your confidence while cycling. They do look fantastic, and the designs are very stylish, and that’s where the value is, in my opinion.

If you were to square them up against similar brands such as Lectric, Raleigh, or even Juiced Bikes, you might get more for your money in terms of motor, battery, and drive-train components, but you might not get a bike as easy to ride as those amazing-looking bikes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are Tomberlin e-Bikes any good?

Tomberlin is an excellent bike if your goals for an electric bike are ease of use, great designs, rather than outright performance. We highly recommend a test ride to get a feel for one.

Are Tomberlin e-Bikes powerful?

Tomberlin vehicles have never been known for incredible speed, more low-speed vehicles, if anything. They are still fast but just not as powerful as other brands. They still have great performance parts, such as hydraulic brakes.

They’re smooth rather than powerful. Tomberlin focuses on predictable, gentle power delivery that works well in city environments. They won’t feel fast or aggressive, but they’re easy and confidence-boosting.
How do Tomberlin e-Bikes compare to brands like Lectric or Juiced?
Brands like Lectric and Juiced often offer better specs for the money. They offer larger batteries and, quite often, more powerful motors, but with Tomberlin, you're paying for the design and comfort that other brands struggle to offer.

Key Takeaways

  1. Tomberlin prioritises comfort over performance. These e-Bikes are designed to be easy, calm, and confidence-boosting.
  2. You’re paying for design, finish, and ride feel. While specs may look average on paper, the real value is in how approachable and pleasant the bikes are to ride.
  3. Perfect for everyday riders, not spec hunters. If you want a stylish, practical e-Bike for commuting or leisure, Tomberlin makes a lot of sense. If you chase power and range, look elsewhere.
