If you're buying secondhand, there are a lot of Scott Addicts at incredible prices, which are still very much amazing bikes.

Not only have they seriously lightened this bike, but they have also added a motor, bringing it back to the weight of a typical road bike. What’s wonderful about this is the bike feels light, agile, and just like a typical road bike. In fact, it probably handles better with the lower weight.
What’s The Motor And Battery Like On The Scott Addict?
The Scott Addict, unlike the Fastlane, uses a Mahle X20 rear hub motor. It delivers 55 Nm of torque and features a 236 Wh battery. You are realistically going to get between 20 and 40 miles. Some websites range higher, but unless conditions are perfect, I just can’t see it, if I’m honest. There’s a range extender with Whill that will get you another 10, maybe 20.
The Mahle was well ahead of its time, but people wanted a mid-drive motor, not a rear hub motor, so they could use their own wheelsets, and it does look much cleaner, to be honest. The assistance is natural and feels like a traditional bike; you’re just much faster.

With a road bike, comfort isn’t always a given. They are not like hybrids or commuters. They are designed to put you in a more aerodynamic position. The Addict is pretty comfortable, but it’s not like sitting on your sofa. It’s a performance bike.
It’s more focused on endurance over speed, so you do get a surprisingly nice position, but if you’re not used to road bikes, then it might take you a bit of time to adjust. In its defense, wider tire clearance is nice, and with a decent bike fit, you can sit on the Addict for a while.
