Bicycle Block Party at Upway Los Angeles!
You’re invited to the Bicycle Block Party! Upway is teaming up with community nonprofits and local organizations to promote safe e-Bike ridership and bicycle infrastructure in the South Bay.
The event will feature e-Bike test rides, community tabling, and tours of Upway and the Redondo Beach Metro station. We'll showcase safe bike ridership and multimodal transportation opportunities in the South Bay. The event will conclude with a community bike ride, so be sure to bring your bike! This family-friendly event is all about celebrating bikes, mobility, and community.

Family-friendly fun for National Bike Month 2025
The Bicycle Block Party is bringing the South Bay community together with a fun-filled itinerary of test rides, tours, mobility fair, and a group bike ride!
Try out certified electric bikes courtesy of Upway, including cargo e-Bikes, folding e-Bikes, commuter e-Bikes, and more. At the community tables, you’ll get to know local organizations from the South Bay and the greater Los Angeles area that are advocating for better bike infrastructure and mobility.
We plan to invite local policymakers and share information about current bike infrastructure projects, and recognize the City of Redondo Beach for its progress on building safer bike lanes. We’ll take a tour of the Redondo Beach Marine Station and discuss everything Metro, ending with a group ride on Redondo Beach Ave and Manhattan Beach Blvd on the new Class II bike lanes— so bring your bike! We’ll talk bike lanes and chat about the future of safe cycling in Redondo Beach.
Returning from the brief group ride, attendees are welcome to stay and mingle at Upway Los Angeles, continuing to test ride e-Bikes. Upway’s e-Bike experts will be available until 3 pm to facilitate test rides and set up purchasing appointments.
South Bay Forward joins the party!
South Bay Forward is helping host the Bicycle Block Party. Here’s more information from Brianna Egan, Chapter Chair & Transportation Lead:
We partner with community members and other organizations to advocate directly to city councils to encourage the implementation of safe bike lanes, especially Class IV protected bike lanes, for the highest degree of safety for all ages and abilities and all road users.
We are excited to partner with Upway and South Bay Bicycle Coalition on the Bicycle Block Party to showcase the variety of e-bikes available and the benefits they provide to households as car replacements.
At this event, we will celebrate the progress that the City of Redondo Beach has made towards implementing the South Bay Bicycle Master Plan and will share information about upcoming bike infrastructure projects that we are engaged in to improve safety on our streets. We look forward to highlighting and celebrating bike mobility at this event, with a focus on safe infrastructure, cross-regional collaboration, and community partnerships.
