Last summer I rode an electric cargo bike around Lake Annecy in France, and it was brilliant. I did the whole route with my dog Reggie sitting in the front, stopping off for lunch and the occasional swim to cool him down. How It Rides
The 85Nm of torque handles the extra weight well. This is even when riding with a 60 lb or a 100 lb child on board. As it’s a longtail electric cargo bike, all the weight is in the rear, making it fairly easy to manoeuvre.
The moped-style tires and coil front suspension absorb bumps well for a bike this heavy. Class 2's 20mph limited assisted top speed handles errands and school runs fine. But the Class 3 upgrade to 28mph makes more sense if you're regularly riding in heavy traffic and like to keep up.
You can carry a decent amount of stuff in the front rack, but when stacked, it blocks part of your view of the road as it hangs over the front wheel quite far. Ride the bike with and without it attached before deciding which one you prefer.

The rear hub motor has a nominal power of 750W with a 1500W peak and 85Nm of torque. It also has a throttle, which is handy for getting going when you’re fully loaded. Thanks to the punchy motor and throttle, you're rarely short of power, even fully loaded with cargo or passengers.
You get two battery options with the Pedego Cargo. The standard 9.6Ah battery keeps the price down, but the 14Ah upgrade has 672Wh and gets you 28 to 56 miles per charge. You can also add an optional 20Ah range extender for a claimed 132 miles. That is enough to replace a car for daily errands.
