Well-Known Trails and E-Bike Rules in Jacksonville

A key highlight is the Jacksonville-Baldwin Rail Trail, a flat and peaceful old railroad corridor that takes you through forests, wetlands, and open countryside. This rails-to-trails route is perfect for beginners, families, and cargo bikes. From here, riders can explore a wider network of scenic trails stretching towards the coast.

Routes like the Timucuan Trail and Amelia Island Trail provide a more coastal experience, with ocean views, wildlife spotting, and shaded sections through maritime hammock woodland. These trails are well-suited to Class 1 e-Bikes and city bikes.

Closer to the city, the Northbank Riverwalk offers a shorter, activity-filled ride along the St. Johns River, with a smooth trail surface, combining scenic views with cultural stops and family-friendly attractions.

For those looking for a greater challenge, Jacksonville also offers a selection of beginner to intermediate mountain bike trails, including Hanna Park and Black Creek.

Florida follows a three-class e-Bike system (Class 1, Class 2, and Class 3 ). Class 1, 2 and 3 electric bicycles may be ridden wherever bicycles are allowed including bicycle paths and multi-use paths.
