What is the Aventon Sinch?
Comfortable and stable
Motor and battery
Aventon e-Bikes are known for their fast acceleration and get-up-and-go ride feel, a sensation that’s often described as “torquey”. It's zippier than other entry-level brands, and a lot of riders appreciate the nicer torque sensor to sense rider input rather than a cadence sensor. Aventon estimates the battery provides up to 55 miles of range on a single charge, but you’ll have to be in the lowest levels of pedal assist to approach that distance.
Foldability
The same goes for folding e-Bikes. The best folding electric bike is… well, the one you’re actually going to fold. If you don’t take advantage of that feature, then it’s just a bike with some weird hinges hanging around. The folding mechanisms on the Sinch are straightforward and effectively collapse the e-Bike down to a smaller unit— the folded dimensions are 41in x 24in x 29in if you’re interested.

The drawback is that the Sinch is a very heavy bike. It weighs 68 lb. which means you have to heave a lot of bike around to fold the two halves together— it’s doable but not enjoyable, that’s for sure. And lifting the husky e-Bike into the trunk of your car is going to require some effort, and potentially a second person.
That extra heft comes from the large tires, front suspension, and, of course, the heavy electrical components. Lightweight models out there are significantly lighter if you need a slimmer bike. Like other folding bikes, there’s a built-in stand to help the Sinch stand upright when folded but there’s no mini wheel to facilitate rolling the bike (a small feature I like to see).
Accessories and tech
As with all Aventon models, there is a display that connects to the Aventon app to track rides and easily adjust settings. The cable management is neat and the style is solid (we cycling fashionistas care about these types of things).
Who is the Aventon Sinch for?
- Riders tight on space: The Sinch folds down to better fit into smaller spaces in a garage, shed, or spot in your home.
- Commuters: It’s too heavy and large to carry onto a bus or the subway, but can be stored comfortably at the office or be transported on a commuter train with more space.
- Driver-riders: These are people who transport their bike via car, like driving to their favorite trailhead or last-mile commuting. E-Bikes require heavy-duty car bike racks, but a folding e-Bike like the Sinch can fit in a car trunk for easier transport.
