What are the best e-Bike trails in Redondo Beach?

Redondo Beach Bike Path
Marvin Braude Bike Trail (also known as The Strand)
We have mentioned the iconic Marvin Braude Coastal Bike Trail in our best e-Bike trails in Anaheim, but we have included it again because of its status and the fact that it conveniently joins with the Redondo Beach bike trail at Torrance Beach. The Marvin Braude Bike Path, called the Strand by locals, was established in 1908 and runs from Torrance Beach to Santa Monica Beach. This gives e-bike riders the opportunity to extend their ride for another 20 miles along another well-maintained stretch of bike lane with its chief highlights being Manhattan Beach Pier, Marina del Rey, competitive beach volleyball, and the Venice Beach Boardwalk, a two-mile promenade containing an eclectic mix of street vendors and performers or the Santa Monica Pier.
Ballona Creek Trail
If you are looking for a more relaxed inland e-Bike ride, taking you away from the hustle and bustle of coastal beach towns, the Ballona Creek trail is a good choice. Again, it’s a well-maintained, mostly asphalt path that runs by the north bank of Ballona Creek and passes through Culver City and Western LA, terminating at Marina Del Rey, connecting back up with the Marvin Braude Bike Trail. The route passes through Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve, so there are plenty of wildlife and birdwatching opportunities. It's 14 miles as a round trip and includes occasional ramps, but is well within Class 1 electric bike battery range and suitable for cargo bikes and tagalongs.

Pointe Vicente LightHouse Loop (via Palos Verdes Drive)
Just south of Redondo Beach in the Palos Verdes Peninsula, this is a 26-mile route with 1900 feet of elevation gain, which takes you to the Point Vicente Lighthouse offering stunning panoramic coastal views off the Southern California coast. This is an extremely popular bike route and attraction, which is considered a challenging ride for cyclists, and with this much elevation and distance, e-Bike riders should be conscious of battery usage and ensure their e-bike is well-maintained. The e-Bike trail takes you past luxury mansions, ports, and along with tide pools at Bluff Cove, from which you may be able to spot whales as you take in the panoramic views of the coast.
Palos Verdes Coastal Loop from Entradero
This loop from Entradero again takes you up to the Point Vicente Lighthouse and, as you would expect, provides stunning coastal views sometimes as far as Catalina Island. The route is about 12 miles and includes nearly 300 metres of elevation gain, so while being a challenging ride for cyclists, Class 1 and Class 2 e-Bike riders in sport mode will find this perfectly manageable both in terms of effort and battery life.
Palos Verdes Drive Loop
This is a difficult 24-mile loop with 1700 feet of elevation which will take about 2.5 hours, so you’ll need to be conscious of your e-Bike battery power and usage of sport mode which you will need to use at points. It's a spirited ride even for e-Bikers, taking you through charming residential areas and offering sweeping ocean views. This one is definitely for more experienced e-Bike riders and may not suit cargo bikes and tagalongs as there are some very tight switchbacks on Palos Verdes Drive East.
