Bianchi’s signature style has been etched into my cycling brain for as long as I can remember. Just like other Italian bike brands (I’m thinking of Cinelli and Pinarello here), Bianchi knows how to make a memorable and beautiful bike that goes fast on the road.

And that pretty performance made an impression on me as a kid, especially on those summer mornings glued to the TV watching the Tour de France. I mean, what other brands can be recognized by a single color? Ah yes, that sweet blue-green Bianchi celeste hue. Like an impressionist Monet masterpiece on two wheels— though, I guess he was French.

What’s in the Bianchi road e-Bike lineup?

One of the latest chapters in Bianchi’s storied history (the brand was founded in 1885) is its fleet of electric bikes. Bianchi now has an extensive range of e-Bikes, including boosted road and gravel bikes.

What is the best electric bike from Bianchi? I’ll give you a brief breakdown of these Bianchi models, just in case you have a serious need for speed. You can check out the hottest deals on like-new and pre-owned Bianchi e-Bikes on Upway.

Bianchi E-Oltre

The crown jewel of Bianchi’s road e-Bike family is the E-Oltre. It’s the raciest and fanciest model of the bunch, featuring the latest Mahle X30 drive unit and tons of slippery aero details. With fully hidden cables, a super compact 250W rear hub motor, and sleek tubing, you’d hardly know this was an electric bike. But once you start riding it, you’ll appreciate the smooth boost and top-of-the-line efficiency.

For me, the E-Oltre (especially the versions with electronic shifting) is entering into super-bike territory, combining the best of the best in road cycling and e-Biking. The sky-high price matches the impressive performance, but you’d be hard-pressed to find an electric road bike that rides and looks better than this one.

Bianchi Aria E-Road

Don’t dare forget about the Bianchi Aria E-Road, though. This e-Road machine is strikingly similar to the Oltre and shaves off a bit of cost, too— even the keyboard warriors in the deep annals of roadie forums have trouble teasing apart the differences between those two models. The Aria E-Road could offer some more bang for your buck.

It’s powered by a Mahle X35 Plus 250W motor unit that’s cleverly disguised within the rear hub. The Aria has a few external cables poking out of the headset area so it’s not as seamless as the Oltre, but that’s far from a dealbreaker for me. Bianchi rate this model as more of a “training” or enduro road bike, but the geometry and performance are plenty racy for your fastest outings and road adventures.

Bianchi E-Impulso

Bianchi E-Impulso gravel electric bike
Welcome to gravel territory. The Bianchi E-Impulso is the Italian brand’s dedicated electric gravel bike, ready to chase your every whim on multi-surface routes. Like the Aria, it’s pushed along by a compact Mahle X35 rear hub motor with 250W of power and 40Nm of torque. It’s a Class 1 e-Bike that assists up to 20 mph, making it legal on most trails with speed restrictions geared toward an electric off road bike. So explore the backcountry to your heart’s content.

The E-Impulso is as much a gravel e-Bike as it is an electric touring bike. It can be outfitted with fenders and a rear rack to transform it into a capable and sleek touring model, or can be used as an efficient bikepacking steed. There’s tire clearance up to 40mm, a durable aluminum frame, carbon fork, and a sweet look. This multi-purpose e-Bike is my top choice if I have to choose just one of these Italian beauties.

Bianchi E-ArcadeX

For grittier gravel and rowdier routes, there’s the Bianchi E-ArcadeX. It’s the only model on this list with a mid-drive motor, boasting a Bosch Performance Line CX motor unit and a 500Wh battery. This component change requires beefing up the downtube a bit, hence the different look of the ArcadeX. But it brings more torque and a slightly altered pedal assist feel than rear hub-driven e-Bikes.

One feature I really like about the ArcadeX is the dropper seat post, letting you adjust the height on the fly for more control over the rough stuff or steep descents. There’s also a touring-specific version of this e-Bike if that’s your thing. I think this could be a candidate for a premium commuter e-Bike, too. It’s not quite as good as hiding the fact that it’s an e-Bike as the other Bianchi road models, but the mid-drive unit is ideal for riders who want it. Turn your local gravel routes into an outdoor playground on the E-ArcadeX!
