What is the Dyname drive system?
What sets Rocky Mountain electric bikes apart from other e-MTBs is its proprietary drive system— called Dyname— combined with the brand’s already premium mountain bike technology. Building their own drive unit from scratch allowed them to develop the motor to fit their top-notch MTBs and preserve the bike’s natural suspension performance and handling.
The latest version of the Dyname 4.0 motor delivers a whopping 108Nm of torque with a buttery smooth power curve for responsive assistance. The Dyname S4 Lite is 30% lighter, and the Dyname S4 Mini fits on smaller electric bikes for young riders. The motors work with the unique drivetrain that features pulley cogs to improve chainline and ground clearance for hard-hitting riding.

Rocky Mountain Instinct
The Instinct Powerplay model series is intended for all-mountain trail use, featuring 150mm/140mm full-suspension, 29” front and rear wheel, and the latest Dyname 4.0 drive system. There are both aluminum frame and carbon frame options, including various built kits with different specs to match your performance needs and budget, including Shimano XT and Shimano Deore and Fox Float X Performance suspension. Rocky Mountain Reaper
The Reaper Powerplay is Rocky Mountain’s full-sized electric trail bike for junior riders. A rare sight among electric bikes, this youth-specific model delivers extra power in a package built for steeper and bigger trails. Model options include 26” and 24” wheelsets, and there’s 130mm full suspension with a maximum pedal-assist motor output of 300W and 40 Nm of torque. There’s a dropper post and large knobs on those smaller-diameter tires— a dream for a little ripper!
Rocky Mountain Altitude
Rocky Mountain’s electrified enduro mountain bike, the Altitude, is built for aggressive gravity riding, bike park use, and amplified climbing. Riders can soak up the biggest obstacles with the 170mm/160mm full suspension package and roll over just about everything on the 29” wheels.
